POLITICAL CAREER
First elected to the Michigan House in 2000. Served on the Westland City Council from 1991 to 2000. Prior to his election to the city council, he also served as Community Development Block Grant Advisory Commissioner, Civil Service Commissioner, and Planning Commissioner. While Councilman, Anderson served as Nankin Transit Commissioner and as a director of the Michigan Municipal League Elected Officials Academy.

Attended the University of Michigan-Dearborn and Wayne State University.

Born Feb., 8, 1954, married to wife Gail with two children, Melissa and Kyle.
CIVIC ACTIVITIES
Sen. Anderson is a Democratic Precinct Delegate, member of the Churchill High School PTA, Westland Goodfellows and the Western Wayne NAACP. He is also a former Jaycee, and a past member of the Westland Hockey Association.
