POLITICAL CAREER
Elected to the Senate in 2002, Bishop has been a member of the Republican State Committee and in 1996 was a candidate for the University of Michigan Board of Regents. He was elected to a term in the House in 1998. Bishop has served as Assistant Majority Leader from 2003 to 2006. He currently serves as Senate Majority Leader taking the place of term limited Ken Sikkema.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Bishop has worked as a lawyer for Booth Patterson, a prosecuting attorney for Orion Charter Township, president of Freedom Realty, Inc. and Pro Management, Inc.

EDUCATION
Bishop received his B.A. from University of Michigan and his law degree from Detroit College of Law.

PERSONAL
Born March 18, 1967, Bishop is married to Christina Bishop and has one child.

CIVIC ACTIVITIES
Bishop is a member of the Michigan Association of Realtors and the Sports Lawyers Association.
