POLITICAL CAREER
Elected to the Senate in 2002, McManus also served in the House from 1993 to 1998. At the onset of the 94th Legislature, Sen. McManus was elected Assistant Majority Leader by her GOP colleagues.

WORK EXPERIENCE
McManus was a Director of Gov. John Engler's Northern Michigan Office from 1999 to 2002.

EDUCATION
McManus received her B.S. in Political Science from Central Michigan University.

PERSONAL
Born October 5, 1966, McManus is married to Keith McManus and has two children: Jessica and Mary Kathleen.

CIVIC ACTIVITIES
McManus is a member of the Northwest Michigan Boys and Girls Club, the Toastmasters, the Habitat for Humanity, the Rotary Club, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the NRA, the Northwest Michigan Farm Bureau, the Zonta Club, the Optimist Club, the Northwest Michigan Fair, and Ducks Unlimited.
