POLITICAL CAREER
Elected to the Senate in 2001, Sanborn has been Assistant President Pro Tempore from 2003 to present. He was also elected to the House in special election in 1998. Sanborn was elected Assistant President Pro Tempore for the 94th Legislature.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Sanborn was a Macomb County Probation Officer and served on the Rochester College Criminal Justice Advisory Committee.

EDUCATION
Sanborn received his B.S. from Michigan State University in 1979.

PERSONAL
Sanborn was born July 21, 1957. His wife's name is Lori and he has three children. His religion is the Church of Christ.

CIVIC ACTIVITIES
Sanborn is a member of the NRA, Right-to-Life, the Fraternal Order of Police, the Juvenile Justice Association of Michigan, and the Michigan/Ontario Juvenile Officers' Association.
