POLITICAL CAREER
First elected to the House in Nov. 2004, Rep. Sheltrown served as an Ogemaw Township Trustee for 10 years and was elected to his present position as the Ogemaw Township Supervisor in 2001. He is the current vice-president of the Ogemaw MTA.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Sheltrown enlisted in the United States Navy and was sent to Viet Nam and received an honorable discharge in 1970. He managed his father's John Deere Dealership before purchasing a propane dealership in West Branch where he is now the owner of Budget Propane.

PERSONAL
Rep. Sheltrown has been happily married for 32 years to wife, Teresa. He has three children: Alison, Nick, and Don.

CIVIC ACTIVITIES
Rep. Sheltrown is an active volunteer with the West Branch Crisis Pregnancy Center, Ogemaw County Right to Life, the Ogemaw County Relay for Life and the West Branch Senior Citizens Center. He holds a music ministry position at Calvary Baptist Church in West Branch and is a member of "Crossing Jordan," a gospel quartet. Mr. Sheltrown also is a member of Right to Life of Michigan, the National Rifle Association, the Michigan Coalition of Responsible Gun Owners, the Michigan Farm Bureau, Whitetails Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, the Michigan Democratic Party, Save Our Shorelines, VFW Post 3775 and the West Branch Optimist Club.
